Prior to joining the leadership team of CertiStay, Randy was a successful property manager for over 25 years, and he founded one of North America’s largest vacation rental management companies with over 2,200 properties under exclusive management. An industry leader, often called on to speak at major industry conventions and associations, Randy is also an experienced real estate entrepreneur with multi-state real estate ventures in the Southeastern United States. Randy has a passion for ensuring that the safety standards of vacation rentals continues to rise, and that guests’ safety is put before industry profits.
Wolf is the founder of an ultra luxury villa agency which quickly became a market leader with offices in Los Angeles, Vancouver and Berlin. After a few unfortunate safety incidents with guests in his homes, he realized that having an industry standard safety and security certification was not only an absolute necessity for owners, guests and community leaders, but also gave his properties a competitive advantage. In late 2015, Wolf brought together an expert team of police and fire chiefs, insurance underwriters, senior vacation rental industry professionals and government leaders in order to develop CertiStay, the first of its kind propriety auditing tool and third party safety and security certification for short term rentals. Wolf was also previously a consultant on private accommodation and has advised heads of state, including providing consultation for G8 Summits and 2010 & 2012 Olympics.
Tyler Bacik has been an I.T. specialists for 20 years. Most of his expertise includes designing systems from the ground up for new businesses or for organizations are looking to rebuild their infrastructure. He has worked in the vacation rental industry for most of his career and has helped numerous companies improve their technological footprint. Tyler specializes in Server Infrastructure, Networking, VOIP, Disaster Recovery and Security and has consulted for businesses that require stronger digital security such as banks, insurance companies, medical facilities, digital payment processors and large format performance centers just to name a few.
Joe Costanzo is a California based, award winning business development and sales professional with a history of high-volume transactions and growth. With a strong background in technology, hospitality, and real estate, Joe’s sales career highlights include being ranked in the top 10 business development representatives company-wide, receiving the 2017 Golden Gavel award ($1 million in revenue), signing $30 million worth of transactions in 2017 and over $20 million 2018.
Kim is an experienced vacation rental manager who has managed properties throughout Florida and North Carolina. With 20 years of experience in vacation rental marketing, she has done it all on – publicity, advertising, marketing planning, email marketing, social media management, online user experience development and blogging. Kim also manages CertiStay’s corporate partnership programs.
Cathy Shields has an extensive resume in the field of both residential and commercial real estate operations management. She has managed multiple offices throughout several states, agents and properties, bridging the daily needs of annual, seasonal and vacation rentals. Cathy has the ability and knowledge to scale up quickly and has superior attention to detail which is of vital importance to CertiStay, especially as the company continues to expand North America wide.
Jessie started working as a maintenance technician for a very large vacation rental agency in 2004. He has worked with local police, fire departments as well as city and county code departments in various states to ensure properties where up to code during the construction phase. Jessie’s role includes consulting with hospitality developers on implementation of large scale CertiStay auditing.
John’s dedication to the vacation rental industry is long and very comprehensive, starting early in his career as a maintenance manager. He quickly moved up as a department manager and overtime began taking on an even more significant role as an asset manager for vacation rental owners managing, ultimately managing more than two hundred million dollars in rental properties. John’s attention to detail along with his knowledge of state and municipal codes and ordinances, has helped guide CertiStay expand nationwide.
Prior to joining CertiStay, Tiffany spent more than 15 years managing vacation rentals throughout the Southeast US. Over the years, she worked closely with municipalities, counties, and various state level leaders on vacation rental legislation. She is currently a member of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, the Tennessee Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and is also a licensed Real Estate Agent in Florida.
Originally from Stanford, Connecticut, Kristi has worked in the industry as a compliance officer, making her an excellent resource for understanding regional, county and state vacation rental legislation. In addition to having a detailed knowledge of short term rental laws, Kristie is also well connected at the community leader level. She holds a Florida Real Estate license and is a Certified Florida Residential Manager.
Terry Jones is best known for founding Travelocity.com and serving as founding Chairman of Kayak.com. Terry spent 24 years at American Airlines in marketing and information technology, capping his career as Chief Information Officer of its SABRE division. While at SABRE he led a team of six working on a project that became Travelocity.com. Jones served as CEO of Travelocity for seven years transforming it to a public company with three billion dollars in travel sales. He left Travelocity when the company was taken private and became part of the founding team at Kayak.com, a company that yet again revolutionized how travel was purchased. He served as Chairman of the company from its founding until it was sold to Priceline for $1.8 billion dollars in 2013. Today he is the Chairman of Wayblazer and managing principal of ON Inc, a consultancy he founded to help companies in their transition to the digital economy. Terry currently serves on the boards of Wayblazer, Boingo, Smart Destinations and The Camping and Education Foundation. He is also a venture capitalist with General Catalyst Partners and Sierra Angels.
Alex Clark is a seasoned technology innovator and a leading expert in embedded software, massively parallel compute-architectures, service oriented technologies, enterprise class computing, and building high-performance, secure, scalable and distributed solutions. Alex studied aerospace engineering at San Jose State University and has authored numerous publications and patents. Alex was co-founder of Bit Stew Systems Inc. and was responsible for developing the initial software that has evolved into MIx Core with a focus on real-time analytics, complex data integration and artificial intelligence. Bit Stew was ranked as one of the Top 100 Analytics Companies and Top 100 IoT Start-ups by Forbes Magazine and in November 2016, was bought by GE Digital for $207.5 million. He was also Chief Technology Officer with Navio Systems in Silicon Valley and led the technical vision for the company’s award-winning and patented rights-based commerce technology. Prior to Navio, Alex was Chief Software Architect for B3 Security Corp., where he conceptualized and built the company’s secure, distributed and real-time transaction processing system. Alex was named to Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2015 for his leadership and technology innovation.
Yuri Fulmer, OBC
An entrepreneur from age 19, Yuri successfully built up a $60 million business portfolio before he turned 30. In 2010, Yuri founded Fulmer Capital Partners (now Fulmer & Company) to continue doing what he does best — helping businesses grow. Fulmer & Company owns and invests in a collection of companies in the hospitality, business-to-business, manufacturing, construction, digital technology and consumer service industries. To date, Fulmer & Company businesses have been named among Canada’s Fastest Growing Private Companies five times. And yes, Yuri’s counting. In 2008 Yuri served as General Campaign Chair for United Way– the youngest person in the organization’s 78-year history to hold this office, raising over 30 million dollars that year. Over the years, Yuri has been recognized for his community involvement and philanthropy. Some of these include: Canada’s Top Forty Under 40 in 2008, the BC Community Achievement Award in 2010, the Spirit of Vancouver Award in 2011 and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for his contribution to Canadian communities. Ellis O’Connor co-heads MSD Hospitality, the hospitality operations and asset management wing of MSD Real Estate Partners which was formed to exclusively manage the capital of Michael Dell and his family. MSD Capital’s team of 80 people operates from the firm’s offices in New York, Miami, Santa Monica and London. Prior to joining MSD Ellis served as the General Manager of the iconic Santa Monica landmark property. Prior to his post at the Fairmont Miramar he served as the opening General Manager of Ian Schrager’s Gramercy Park Hotel. Previously, he spent ten years with Peninsula Hotels, mostly in Beverly Hills, partly in New York, as Hotel Manager. Holding an MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu and a HND in Hotel Catering and Hospitality Management from Thames Valley University in London, England, Ellis currently serves as Board Member for British American Business Council, Executive Board Member for Britweek, Founding Board Member for Cinemagic Los Angeles and is also a Past Chairman of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce and Santa Monica Tourism and Travel. Ellis is a member of the Santa Monica Chapter of YPOG and is based in Los Angeles.
